Privacy Policy

The Minnesota Government Data Practices Act applies to all data collected under PBEEEP.

Government Data Practices

The Contractor (the Center for Energy and Environment (CEE), the PBEEEP Administrator) and State must comply with the Minnesota Government Data Practices Act, Minn. Stat. Ch. 13, as it applies to all data provided by the State under this contract, and as it applies to all data created, collected, received, stored, used, maintained, or disseminated by the Contractor (CEE) under this contract. The civil remedies of Minn. Stat. § 13.08 apply to the release of the data governed by the Minnesota Government Practices Act, Minn. Stat. Ch. 13, by either the Contractor (CEE) or the State.

If the Contractor (CEE) receives a request to release the data referred to in this Clause, the Contractor (CEE) must immediately notify the State. The State will give the Contractor (CEE) instructions concerning the release of the data to the requesting party before the data is released.

Information Collected

As a part of the normal Public Buildings Enhanced Energy Efficiency (PBEEEP) process, we will need to collect certain information that will aid us in achieving mutual success. This includes the following types of information:

  • primary contact(s) for your specific energy project(s)
  • phone numbers
  • email addresses
  • building addresses
  • data releases that will allow us to access building utility data
  • description of any current and/or past activities related to changes to each building
  • description of any current and/or past equipment, systems, and/or operational practices related to each building

In addition we may also collect certain non-identifiable information that allows us to analyze trends, to administer our site and to help us improve overall service to our clients. Such information includes browser-type (e.g., Firefox, Internet Explorer, etc), operating system (e.g., Windows XP, MacOS, etc) and domain name (e.g., AOL, Earthlink, gmail, etc). For similar purposes, we may use cookies (small text files stored on your hard drive) to help us improve service levels through the gathering of summary statistics on website and web-page use. In the event you wish to receive notification of when a cookie is sent or to reject cookies, you may modify your browser settings.
